MEXICO: San Miguel Allende session 2011
San Miguel Allende Workshop 2011
NOTE* Dates in October to be determined by group enrollment ,current dates set for reference are 17 TO 26 BUT COULD MODIFIED. to 7-15.
Come and enjoy the warm of this arts colony and the colonial character of 1600's in San Miguel . The uniqueness of these workshops with Alfonso are the simplicity and the reasonable attention given to cost . You make your own fly arrangements and hotel reservations the cost for the air fare and the lodging accomodations are based on the lower cost with the learn comfort that my previous groups have experienced traveling to this location . The lodging includes breakfast and dinner in the cost of the room ( 70 single to 120 doble $Us ) . We make arrangements to be pick up at the airport in Silao/Leon and driven to our hotel "LA MANSION DEL BOSQUE" a centraly located traditional place two blocks from the main Jardin and just infront of a mexican park .
The workshop sessions are 9 days with 4 hours of daily work , everyday in the afternoon we have a happy hour with a general critic to all the work done in the day and review the possible direction to follow next day.
We have a couple of out of town painting trips and the cost is shared by the group previous discussion on the location and cost. We do a city tour and visit art studios the days are open to the participants to do as they which after the 4 hours sessions ( 9.30 am-1.30 pm) and making sure their participation in the late afternoon 5.30- 6.00pm to be at the daily critics and after go to dinner. The ciy has evening events that maybe of interest theatre and music events and possible art galleries oppenings .
The instruction cost is $ 850 dollars Canadian per participant and the averages cost to the participants between fly, accomodation, transportation and some extras for special meals and events is aprox.$2,000 for 10 to 12 days unless your air miles cut the flying cost down (aprox $ 800 dollars) the meals cost can also be cut down since the hotel includes breakfast and dinner in the room's cost.
